Join us for our July Meeting! July 10th at 7pm at the Alameda Hospital, on the second floor in conference room A.
This month we'll be hearing from Megan Abell, the Director of Advocacy for TechEquity Collaborative. We'll be learning about their organization and their efforts to reform Prop 13. We'll also be voting as to whether the club supports Prop 13 reform. If you're unfamiliar with Prop 13, I recommend this article by our speaker: "6 Ways that Proposition 13 Sucks"
We'll also be hearing from local Alamedan Jeanne Nader, StopWaste Program Manager www.stopfoodwaste.org She'll be giving us an amazing presentation on Food Waste Reduction! Food waste is a huge issue in the United States! 40% of all food in the U.S. is wasted and 25% of all freshwater we consume goes to produce that we don't even eat. [Source] Food waste also accounts for about 30% of U.S. methane emissions, a potent greenhouse gas. Reducing your food waste can make a huge environmental impact, come to our meeting and learn how!
