November Meeting: How to Bridge Divides

This month we have the pleasure of hearing journalist Eve Pearlman speak, we’ll be learning how to foster a dialogue amongst individuals who disagree. We're lucky this amazing TedTalker and local Alamedan will be our speaker this month!

Pearlman is known for her process called dialogue journalism, which she developed with her partner Jeremy Hay. This process is "for going to the heart of social and political fractures and building journalism-supported conversations between regular people about the issues of deep consequence to all us." Check out her website to learn more!

This November we should remember to be thankful for what we have and remember to share with those less fortunate. We will be collecting toiletry items for the Midway Women’s Shelter. Please bring any of the following to the meeting to donate:

  • Deodorant (men and women's)

  • Razors (men and women's)

  • Shower Shoes (flip flops for women & children)

  • Shampoo and conditioner (full sizes preferred)

  • New or like new Cold Weather Sleeping Bags (to be handed out to individuals at the Warming Shelter)

If you can't make it to the meeting, you can still support Building Futures by purchasing something off of their wish list Or you can make a monetary donation online with a credit card.
