February 2018 Meeting: Home is Where the Heart Is

Home Is Where The Heart Is

Bring your friends and loved ones to The Alameda Democratic Club’s meeting on Wednesday, February 14, to learn from an expert panel about housing — an issue that affects everybody in Alameda and will shape our city’s future.

We will be hearing from a wide range of viewpoints, from people active and working with issues having to do with housing — real estate, renting, housing, preservation, and environmental impact. We will also have a member of the City Council on hand to present a municipal perspective on these issues.

We hope that by presenting a range of viewpoints, we can all learn about the challenges that many in our town are passionate about, and perhaps come to a clearer and more compassionate understanding of the trials that we face today and tomorrow.

Our tentative panel of speakers will include:

  • Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft, Alameda City Council
  • Ethan Elkind, writer on Environment & Politics
  • Victoria Fierce, East Bay for Everyone
  • Paul Foreman, Alameda Citizens Task Force
  • Catherine Pauling, Alameda Renters Coalition
  • Jose Cerda-Zein, Realtor
