On March 14th, the City of Alameda Democratic Club hosted a debate between District Attorney candidates, the incumbent, Nancy O'Malley and civil rights attorney Pamela Price. Dan Wood, Vice President of Programs, directed questions to the candidates, while club Treasurer, Mike McMahon kept time. The meeting, held in the grand ballroom at the Alameda Elks Lodge was heavily attended by CADC members and interested voters alike.
Following the debate, eligible club members voted, by way of paper ballot, as to who would be endorsed. Per the club bylaws, neither candidate received 60% of the vote so the club will not be endorsing a DA candidate in this race.
By a overwhelming majority, the City of Alameda Democratic Club did vote to endorse Representative Barbara Lee for and Assemblymember Rob Bonta for reelection. Congratulations to those candiates!
