2018 Midterm Election Endorsements

The City of Alameda Democratic Club regularly holds endorsement votes for candidates and legislation. In order to receive a club endorsement, the candidate or issue must meet a 60% threshold, with a minimum of 18 votes in support. Barbara Lee for Re-Election

The CADC has endorsed Congresswomen Barbara Lee for re-election. Congresswoman Lee was first elected to Congress in 1998. Her early accomplishments include fighting for bipartisan legislation to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. Currently she sits on the House Appropriations Committee, one of the most influential and powerful committees in Congress.

Rob Bonta For Re-Election

CADC has endorsed Assemblymember Rob Bonta for re-election. In 2012, Rob Bonta was sworn in as the first Filipino to serve in the California legislature. Since his election, Assemblymember Bonta has been working to improve the lives of people in the East Bay, focusing on making schools better, streets safer and communities more prosperous. In his first two years, he has made significant achievements toward these goals.

Ballot Measure A: Alameda County Child Care and Early Education Measure

This measure endeavors to accomplish two things. First, it aims to establish the Alameda County Child Care and Early Learning Scholarship program which would add thousands of new high quality child care and early education scholarships for Alameda County families. It also will raise the wages and quality of life of our early educators.
